Extreme Wing-suit Flying - By Ueli Gegenschatz
Today I watched a TED talk on Extreme Wing-suit Flying by Ueli Gegenscchatz. Ueli really shows his courage and bravery by jumping out of the sky at incredible heights.
Ueli talks about his long and exciting journey through the sky in his wing-suit and how it makes him feel like hes letting go. He also states that it relieves all of his stresses in the world and makes him feel free. He went on to talk about how he started out paragliding and flying cross country around the mountains of famous places such as the Grand Canyon. From there he went to skysurfing which is skydiving but with a board under your feet. And from his skysurfing experience he says that it intakes a lot of force on your body from the board to your feet.
I really enjoyed the talk and it really inspired me to take risks and try new things that I ordinarily wouldn't do. From now on I will challenge myself to the limit I didn't think was possible. Ueli inspired to me to take on new tasks and challenges I wouldn't do in my ordinary life. Thanks to him I've really enjoyed his wingsuit flying and would even want to try it in my life.
This is one of the best TED talks I have watched in my life and you should watch it too by clicking the video up above my reflection.

Are we born to run? - Christopher McDougall
In this TED talk Christopher Mcdougall talks about how humans are born to run and how our ancestors enabled to us to run. He states the reason he likes running so much is because that something bizarre happens in this activity all the time. He then tells a story about a women named Derartu Tulu. Derartu Tulu is a women who is a marathon runner but about a month before her next race she had almost died in child birth. Derartu struggled with pain and other problems for a couple weeks after her labor. Amazingly she competed in the New York City marathon a month later and ended up winning. She faced the best competition out there including an Olympic gold medalist and still beat the odds. She is a true hero for her strength and courage she had used to overcome the obstacles standing in her way to be victorious in NYC. I really enjoyed this talk from Christopher McDougall because of his great story of Derartu Tulu and how he knows so much about running. What I found interesting was that a women by the age of 43 almost died of child birth a month before winning the NYC marathon. I also learned how running can be anything you want it to be. This talk was one of my favorite because it really expressed the meaning of what matters to me which is overcoming obstacles. I hope you enjoyed my reflection on "Are we born to run?" By Christopher McDougall and you should definitely check out the Ted talk video up above.
How to make hard choices - Ruth Chang
Did you know hard choices can change your life? Well, obviously it can and it can change your life in lots of ways. Deciding what job opportunity to choose or what place you should move to can both be hard choices. "Hard choices seem to be occasions for agonizing, hand-wringing, the gnashing of teeth." I agree with her on this because hard choices can really boggle your mind and sometimes you can't choose between the two. I believe when making a hard choice you have to look at the situation from both perspectives. Usually the best choice is to find which choice can earn you more benefits and or more alternatives to help out your predicament. Making a hard choice doesn't have to be as hard as we make it out to be. If only choosing what to eat for lunch was as easy as choosing a career then we wouldn't suffer from making the wrong choice. Now, if there's no best option, "or if the scales don't tip in favor of one alternative over another, then surely the alternatives must be equally good". Even if your thinking one is not better than the other you want to be 100% positive. And if they really are the same then " heres how you should decide between careers, places to live, people to marry: Flip a coin."

How augmented reality will change sports...and build empathy - Chris Kluwe
Chris Kluwe is a former punter in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings. He wants to look into the future of the NFL and sports in general and think about how the new technology would help the players, coaches, and even the fans. He visualizes the future in which augmented reality(advance in technology) will help the fans encounter sports as if they were actually playing on the field. He states " the only way you can be on the field is if someone describes it to you." We'll Chris and others want to take augmented reality and include it into sports so fans watching at home can taste every bit of what its like to play professional sports. In my opinion this is great idea and would attract more people to watch sports or even be involved in a sport. I love sports with a passion and this video is one of the things that matters to me. Hi I'm Ryan Jean. I'm 14 years old and go to West Orange High school. My hobbies are baseball and hanging out with friends and family. I'm currently doing a project on TED Talk videos.
